Caterpillars aren’t just those creepy-crawly creatures anymore! At Smiling Button, they’ve taken on a new meaning: Snacks! Here’s how to make your very own hungry caterpillar:
Caterpillar Body: On a cutting board, cut the apple in half. Cut one of these halves into small, centimeter-thick slices. You can make these slices as long or as short as you want. Place these slices in a winding fashion on a plate to imitate the body of a caterpillar.
Caterpillar Head: Place the mini Babybel cheese wheel at the top of the “Caterpillar body” (apple slices)
Caterpillar eyes and nose: Use the other half of the apple to cut out two small, round disks out of the white part of the apple (about 1 cm wide) Then, cut our three small pieces of the apple skin to use for the pupils and nose. Place the two white, small, round apple disks on top of the Babybel cheese wheel. Place the skin of the apples on the white part of the apple to create pupils, then place one under the eyes to create a nose.
Caterpillar legs: With the fruit leather, cut out small L-shaped pieces (as many as you want) These l-shaped pieces represent the caterpillar’s legs. For the antenna, cut out two long, skinny strips of the fruit leather, and place these at the top of the Babybel cheese wheel.
Nothing screams summer like water activities! These sailboat eggs are a playful way to kick off summer fun!
Cut the cheese into triangular pieces to look like a sail.
Stick the toothpicks into the cheese triangles.
5. Plate and enjoy!
